Hit The Road!

Who says you have to go far to experience something new and exciting? Pack up the fam, get in the car, and off you go on an exciting road trip.

Okay, maybe it’s not that simple, but with some strategic planning, a day trip is a great way to change things up a bit, and even offer some new learning experiences for the little ones.

Where to go:

A Google search will offer a bottom-less list of ideas of where to go – close enough to home, yet far enough to completely change your surroundings. Get some inspiration from Trip Advisor or Lonely Planet, where you can search by location and activity type.

You could even check out your local transportation system websites, if you’d rather travel by train.  A couple of examples are Bartable.gov (San Francisco Bay Area), and Dart.org (Dallas). They offer a great resource for activities close to public transportation.

What to bring:

This is the tricky part. The Baby Center has compiled a great list of the essentials for your kids, your car, and your snacking needs. To take the stress out of packing we have created a nifty checklist for you to consult.

While we’re on the topic of what to bring - SNACKS! Let’s be honest – food is half the fun of a road trip. We love the Banana Oat Energy Bites from Tip Hero. Add some cocoa powder for an extra chocolaty taste.

Voila! You are ready to go…
